We are The Summit Company, a family owned and operated General Contracting Firm providing quality Commercial Construction Services since 1997. For over 25 years The Summit Company has been committed to providing our clients with the highest quality workmanship while staying cost effective and within the client’s budget and schedule. We specialize in construction projects large and small and offer our customers a broad range of construction services ranging from complete new buildings (conventional and/or pre-engineered maintenance buildings) to performing specific trade work. Our recent projects have included site work (foundations, concrete flat work, curb & gutter, asphalt, storm systems, etc.) and interior renovations including excellent finish carpentry work (studs & drywall, flooring, painting, wall-covering, ceilings, roofing, doors, glazing, cabinetry, trim work, etc.). Our customers include tier one automotive suppliers, municipalities, religious facilities, educational facilities, and commercial/ industrial facilities.

The Story of The Summit Company begins with owner and founder Dale Belsley. Having come from a family with a long history in the construction business, Dale gained experience and knowledge of the industry early on. He earned his degree in Construction Engineering and went on to work for several large general contracting firms in the Detroit Metropolitan area. For close to a decade, Dale successfully ran a reputable General Contracting firm as Chief Operating Officer. With a passion and motivation to own his own general contracting firm, Dale risked his other opportunities to start The Summit Company. Dale and his wife Wendy along with friend and partner Jerry Bell, assembled a team of dedicated construction professionals who shared their same core values and brought with them their own areas of experience and expertise. Jerry Bell was a master craftsman who put his heart and soul into every project. He was an integral part of the foundation of Summit. His expert skills, conscientious professionalism and genuine character greatly contributed to our growth and success over the years. Todd Helka, Summit’s master carpenter, was a part of the original team as well. Todd continues to complete successful projects at Summit and has been faithful here for over 25 years. Sadly, Jerry (2016) & Dale (2019) passed away, but their legacies of hard work, dedication and commitment serves as an example of the work ethic we continue to follow in their memory.
Today The Summit Company continues its commitment to our clients to provide quality and service that exceed their expectations, staying on schedule and within their budget. Our success is demonstrated by our repeat customers and many referrals. The next generation of Summit Leadership has joined the team, bringing with them new innovative ideas and the latest technology for a constantly changing industry. Summit is owned & operated by Tony & Jennifer Dattilio. Tony, a former public school teacher, and his wife Jennifer have worked for Summit for 20 years in some capacity. Their vision is to serve the needs of others in the construction industry. They are motivated to carry on the legacy of their predecessors and continue to lead Summit with their core values. Under their leadership, Summit has: implemented strategic planning including principles of Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) ; diversified its customer base; increased its annual revenue; provided more jobs in both management and field positions; and implemented new technology including paperless time entry, a cloud-based server, and project management software. Summit’s team is excited about the future and they have a plan to continue to serve the needs of others in the construction industry.
